  • To ensure utilisation of the most applicable ESP and completion technology.
  • In conjunction with Client Account Manager liaise directly with customers on the matters concerning ESP system applications in terms of ESP and well completion design and operational issues to ensure maximisation of the ESP run life.
  • Assist the Client Account and Business Development Managers in the evaluation and progress of business and technical opportunities in the region and promote business improvements within the team and key technology partners.
  • Assist in the preparation of relevant tenders, primarily in terms of ESP design, application, technical support, QA/QC and scheduling issues.
  • Manage customer allocated, contractually held stock including procurement of ancillary technologies and co-ordinating logistics efforts required to support existing and potential Client Accounts.

ESP Technician / Testwell SupervisorFeb 1997 to May 2005 (8 years 3 months)

Based in Aberdeen with occasional international assignments.

  • Repair and assembly of all components required for ESP working to specifications as outlined by schematic drawings.
  • Meticulous tearing down of equipment, often witnessed by the client in the event of a premature run life. Determine the cause of failure and fully document findings.
  • Testing equipment to comply with company and industry standards often witnessed by third party and client inspectors.
  • Vibration analysis and documenting data.
  • Deputise for Production Controller: Prioritise work load, estimating repairs and generating necessary paperwork
  • Quality Control: Checking new and used parts to critical tolerances to determine if fit for purpose.
  • Light fabrication and machining.
  • Install and test third party multi-sensor pods, primarily for measuring vibration, temperature and pressure.
  • Deliver induction training for Field Service personnel.
  • Cable splicing and testing.

Offshore Experience:
  • Installation of ESP completions and Down Hole Monitoring systems in the North Sea.
  • Coiled tubing deployed ESP systems in Australia

Other Experience:
  • Congo (Africa): Established workshop/test facility and trained local personnel to comply with company standard methods.
  • Claremore (Oklahoma): As part of a planned personal development programme, travelled to Centrilift’s headquarters to update knowledge of new technology and discuss quality issues with key manufacturing personnel, implementing these methods on return to Aberdeen.
