  • Abu Safah & Safaniyah Offshore field:

Calibration was a success due to Intelligent Field capabilities and sensor data allowing accurate production allocation and well production selection for reservoir management. Workover planning and implementation.
    • ESP Project Manager for Implementation of Intelligent Completions for Abu Safah offshore field and liaise with FEED consultants Worley Parsons. Introduced innovative Dual Can Completion and Automatic Diverter Valve. Conducted Risk Assessments, blowdown procedures and assisted on the elaboration of the Bridging document between Aramco and designated rig.
    • Project Manager for Implementation of 90 km subsea Flank #3 & #4 project for Abu Safah field. Project aimed to debottleneck the production of 8 platforms that had their production piggybacked in a single pipeline. Liaise with FEED consultants Worley Parsons and EPCM McDermott. Supervised the network GAP model amendment and calibration.
    • Work in a multidisciplinary environment to enable new slots from old ESP platforms in Abu Safah and Safaniyah for additional production wells, participating in the decision making process across several disciplines from drilling operations to production operations. Lead the team to establish a slot recovery methodology and process.
    • Project Manager Safaniyah Field Development with 39 ESP wells on 5 offshore 6-legged platforms along with a 60 km subsea trunk line. Assigned and monitor the well/network modelling team.
    • Participated on the Intelligent Surveillance project aiming to control production, monitor ESPs, establish key decision trees to attain a degree of automation for well screening: well selection for shutdown events, well production for API blends, wells for trouble shooting and well selection for start-up. Workover planning for highly complex intelligent completion systems.
  • Qatif Onshore/Offshore field:
    • Calibrated existing GAP models with production data with collaboration of Reservoir management MBAL input. Develop the master surveillance program for Qatif Field and coordinate special studies for I-Field requirements.
    • Qatif field Risk Assessment due to high H2S gas contents (+20% v/v). Onshore Safety Standard review board member. Developed advanced completions design for extended reach well aiming to avoid H2S reservoirs. Assisted on the development of Prosper file to predict H2S release in case of a blowout event.
    • Project management of Qatif ESP offshore field single well platform design & construction along with subsea tie-in flowline development.
    • Multi-phase flow transient state flow modeling with OLGA and slug effects on Qatif export pipeline and separator vessel at Central Processing Facility. Introduced Hydrocyclone sand separators at the well site on water producers to reduce detrimental effect on Qatif water injection network.
  • Abqaiq/Manifa Onshore field:
    • Lead the Abqaiq ESP team to develop a new GAP model and to calibrate to historical data. Model assisted in the production forecast of the 42 wells to be completed with ESPs.
    • Seawater power Injection conversion project. Project presented in an SPE paper in 2011.
    • Prepared an ESP vs Gas Lift Evaluation Study for Manifa Project.
    • Evaluated the premature failure of water injection chokes in AFK field and introduced multi-stage technology to solve the problem.

  • Appointed as Artificial Lift Project Manager for Maari Field Development for OMV. Lead a team of engineers: advanced well completions, applications engineer, field services, procedures & documentation, QHSE and logistics.
  • Engineered special well completion as Maari reservoir is high in paraffin content and required controlled heat tracing all along the production tubing and flowline.
  • Performed a Platform Production Performance Analysis at Apache Stag. Supervised the Water Injection network and water injection equipment selection for Santos, Origin and Oil Search organisations.
Schlumberger Indonesia
  • Artificial Lift specialist prepared FEED for Total Indonesie Gas Well Test Barge equipped with Framo Multi-phase Pump.
  • Prepared a Gas Lift Optimization Programme for Tunu Field for Total Indonesie. The project involved 48 wells and the list of recommendations included the use of NOVA gas lift valve.
  • Prepared and implemented ESP Optimization Project for Yakin & Seppingan Fields for Unocal Indonesia, involving multi-phase meters, well design, real time production monitoring and production optimization.
  • Introduced ESP Satellite Remote Monitoring & Control project for Unocal Mahoni field. Project generated an SPE paper” presented by Unocal, which I was co-author.
